Is surgery safe for my pet?

While any surgery carries some level of risk, our team takes every precaution to minimize it and ensure your pet's safety. We understand how stressful a procedure can be for pet owners, so before any surgery, our veterinarians will thoroughly explain the procedure and how your pet will be cared for throughout.

Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides a sterile and safe environment for all procedures. To further ensure your pet's well-being, we offer pre-anesthetic blood testing, IV fluid therapy, ECG for senior pets, and CO2 laser & laser light therapy.

What surgeries are performed at your hospital?

  • Spay and neuter
  • All soft tissue surgeries (lumps/tumour removals, bladder stone removal etc)
  • Minor ophthalmological procedures (cherry eye, distichia, ectopic cilia, entropion etc)
  • ACL Repair – extracapsular technique
  • Orthopedic procedures (simple fracture repairs, patellar luxations, amputations, femoral head and neck excision)

How long does it take for my pet to recover after surgery?

Recovery time varies according to the type of procedure your pet had, for instance it can take two weeks or months. In either case it is important to offer special support for your pet during this time. It is mandatory to follow their medication instructions and administer them on time. Your veterinarian will also schedule follow-up appointments to ensure your pet is healing properly. At our hospital we offer laser therapy which can be used to help your pet heal faster. At home, make sure your pet is eating properly, keep their incision clean and dry, and limit their movement to avoid disrupting the healing process.
